The undefeated North Muskegon girls soccer team got past a major obstacle by defeating a very good Muskegon Catholic squad 1-0 on Thursday a Division 4 district semifinal game on MCC’s field.

The lone goal came from Hope Johnson early in the second half, with an assist from Sophia Mueller. The Norse recorded 15 shots in the game and hit the crossbar several times.

North Muskegon, 18-0 and ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 4, will face Western Michigan Christian in the district finals on Saturday at 5 p.m. at MCC.
