The West Michigan Whitecaps fell 3-2 at Great Lakes on Tuesday night in the first game of a three game series.

Jose Azocar and Alexis Garcia each had two hits to lead the Whitecaps offense while Azocar and Colby Bortles each had an RBI.

Starting pitcher Elvin Rodriguez took the loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits in six innings of work while also striking out five.

The Whitecaps are now 32-33 and in fourth place of the Midwest League Eastern Division, 11 games behind first place Bowling Green.

The series will continue on Wednesday when the Whitecaps take on the Loons at 7:05 p.m.
