The West Michigan Whitecaps won their fourth straight game, defeating Lake County 6-2 on Friday night.

Facing a 1-0 deficit to start the fourth inning, Reynaldo Rivera drove in Brady Policelli and Brock Deatherage to give the Whitecaps a 2-1 lead. Kody Clemens then singled home Rivera before Joey Morgan doubled home Clemens, giving the Whitecaps a 4-1 lead. Cameron Warned then doubled home Morgan before coming home to score on a double by Anthony Pereira, giving the Whitecaps a 6-1 lead.

Whitecaps starter Brad Bass picked up the win, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out seven in five innings. Reliever Johna Belisario picked up a hold, allowing only one hit and striking out four in three innings of work.

The Whitecaps are now 45-41 overall and 9-7 in the second half, two games behind Fort Wayne and Lansing for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

The Whitecaps series in Lake County will continue on Saturday with first pitch at 7 p.m.
