The Muskegon Community College volleyball team went 2-2 over the weekend in the Waubonsee College Tournament in Springport Illinois.
The Jayhawks went 1-1 on day 1, losing to Des Moines Area Community College 25-17, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-19 but defeated number two ranked division three Harper College 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.
Amber Jacobs led Muskegon with 17 kills and 18 digs while Jaren Smith had 17 kills 13 digs. Katie Veihl had 70 assists, five aces, and 11 digs for the Jayhawks.
On day 2, Muskegon lost to Parkland 25-21, 25-15, and 25-16 before defeating Waubonsee 21-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-21.
Julie Brown had 18 kills, three aces and eight blocks to lead Muskegon while Smith had 16 kills and seven blocks. Amber Jacobs added 15 kills and 16 digs.
The Jayhawks are now 3-2 on the season and will host Lansing on Tuesday before traveling to Grand Rapids on Thursday.
