The West Michigan Whitecaps fell for the second straight game, losing 3-2 at Fort Wayne on Monday night.

The Whitecaps fell behind 3-0 after three innings on Monday before Anthony Pereira scored Joey Morgan on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Jordan Pearce then scored on an error in the seventh inning to make the score 3-2 but the Whitecaps were unable to scratch across any more runs.

Kody Clemens and Pearce each had two hits to lead the Whitecaps offense while Chance Kirby took the loss on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out five in five innings.

The Whitecaps fall to 60-59 overall on the year and 24-25 in the second half, five and a half games behind Bowling Green for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

The Whitecaps will wrap up their series at Fort Wayne on Tuesday with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
