The Muskegon Community College volleyball team went on the road for a showdown with Lansing Community College on Thursday and came awaywith a big 3-1 victory.
The set scores were 29-27, 25-15, 20-25, 25-12.
The victory kept the Jayhawks in first place in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Division with a 9-1 conference record. Lansing fell to 7-3.
Jaren Smith led MCC in kills with 13, Julie Brown added 12 and Alexis Issette had 11. Katie Veihl dished out 45 assists and Kennedi Bernia served up three aces.
Defensively, Amber Jacobs had 19 digs and Sheby Rasch added 18, while Maddie Heiss had eight blocks.
The Jayhawks will travel to Grand Rapids to compete in the Raider Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
