A strong second half performance paced Ludington over Muskegon Heights 28-14 on Friday in a Lakes 8 football game.

Muskegon Heights opened the scoring with two second quarter touchdowns on an eight-yard pass from Anthony Townsend to Jaromeo Blackshire and a 26-yard catch by Arlester Sims to give the Tigers a 14-0 halftime lead.

The Orioles responded early in the third quarter with a 15-yard touchdown reception by Jake Plamondon from quarterback Garrett Meeker to cut the deficit to 14-7.

Meeker tied the score 14-14 late in the third with a 12-yard scamper.

Ludington took its first lead of the contest midway through the fourth quarter on a 16-yard completion from Meeker to Plamondon.

Meeker closed out the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run.

The Orioles were led by Meeker with 193 passing yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 96 yards and two scores. Plamondon added nine receptions for 126 yard and two touchdowns.

The Tigers were led by Sims with six catches for 126 yards and a touchdown.

The Orioles improved to 3-2 on the season and 1-2 in conference play and will host Orchard View next Friday.

Muskegon Heights falls to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in league play. The Tigers will look for the first win next week against Muskegon Catholic.
