The Muskegon Community College team battled out a five set win over Kellogg Community College on Tuesday. The Jayhawks, ranked No. 12 nationally, are now 12-5 on the season and 6-1 in conference play.

MCC took the first set 25-23, but the Bruins took the second set by the same score. The Jayhawks rebounded to win the third set 25-17 before KCC took the fourth 25-19. MCC took the decisive fifth set 16-14.

Jaren Smith led the Jayhawks with 17 kills, 16 digs and four blocks. Amber Jacobs had 23 digs and six kills, while Katie Veihl had 45 assists and 15 digs.
