Volleyball roundup: Mona Shores and Spring Lake win; Fruitport falls short

The Mona Shores volleyball team cruised past Muskegon in an O-K Black Conference match on Tuesday.

The Sailors won by scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-18 to improve to 4-2 in league play.

Riley Rosenthal paced Mona Shores with eight kills while Lauren Dunn added five.

The Sailors were led defensively by Suriya van der Oord witg 13 digs while Emma Lynn and Brooke LeRoux added seven.

Mona Shores is now 8-16-2 overall on the season.

SPRING LAKE 3, ALLENDALE 0 – The Lakers won the O-K Blue Conference match by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-19 on Tuesday.

Jenna Core led Spring Lake with 18 kills while Madelin Zenas and Laney Peasley added six.

Lauren Cooper paced the Lakers defensively with 14 digs.

The Lakers are now 25-4-1 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.

JENISON 3, FRUITPORT 2 – The Trojans fell short in an O-K Black match by scores of 23-25, 25-17, 14-25, 25-19, 9-15.

Rachel Paulsen led Fruitport with 17 kills while Kylie Oberlin added 11. Jordyn Carlyle chipped in with 30 assists.
