The Whitehall football team used a second-half scoring surge to pull away from Hart in a 49-0 victory.

The Vikings took a 14-0 lead into halftime after quarterback Gavin Schafer found Trenton Blanchard for a 32-yard touchdown in the first quarter and Kris Dowdell punched in a nine-yard run in the second quarter.

Less than a minute into the second half, Dowdell found an opening and rushed for a 14-yard touchdown run, making the score 21-0.

Kayleb Venema rounded out the third quarter scoring with a 35-yard touchdown run and a one-yard touchdown run, giving the Vikings a 35-0 lead.

Late in the fourth quarter, Venema had another two-yard touchdown run before the final Vikings touchdown came off of a pick-six from Kyler Honore.

Venema led the Vikings with 115 yards on 16 carries while Gavin Shafer threw for 52 yards and a touchdown on 3 of 9 passing.

Blanchard led Whitehall receivers with 32 yards and a touchdown on one reception.

Kyler Honore led the team with 6.5 tackles and an interception whilte Ethan McKenzie followed with six tackles.

The Vikings are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They’ll travel to Oakridge next Friday for a conference showdown.
