The Kent City football team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday, 14-7 to  undefeated Lake City in a non-conference matchup.

Lake City scored two touchdowns in the first quarter, then Kent City’s Evan Jones found the end zone in the third. But the Eagles could not get the equalizer down the stretch.

Gio Weeks rushed 16 times for 90 yards for Kent City while Jones rushed 10 times for 84 yards.

The Eagles, now 7-1 on the season, will finish off the regular season with a home game against Grant on Friday.
