Ludington soccer downs Elk Rapids in OT, setting up regional showdown with OV

The Ludington soccer team earned another berth in the Division 3 regional finals with a 3-2 overtime win over Elk Rapids on Wednesday in a regional semifinal at Clare High School.

The Orioles, who advanced all the way to the state finals last season, will meet Lakes 8 Conference rival Orchard View on Saturday in the regional final at Clare at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to the state semifinals.

Noah Peterson scored twice for Ludington on Wednesday while Brayden Porter scored once. Steven Darby had a pair of saves.

Oriole goalie Maxime Grenier stopped four of six Elk Rapids shots. Ludington had 19 shots on goal.

Ludington improved to 18-4-3 on the season.
