The Muskegon Catholic volleyball squad advanced to the Division 4 district finals, defeating WM Academy of Science 3-1 on Wednesday in semifinal action.

The Crusaders won by scores of 25-27, 25-13, 25-12 and 25-18.

Emily Olsen, Calvinnae Simmons and Erin LaVigne paced MCC with seven kills apiece while Kyra Tyler and Payton Helton added four aces each.

Muskegon Catholic was paced defensively by Maria Sanocki with 32 digs while Amelia Heminger chipped in with 34 assists.

The Crusaders, who are now 20-17 overall on the season, will face Fruitport Calvary Christian on Friday for the district title.
