The North Muskegon football team cruised past Hart 48-0 in a West Michigan Conference matchup on Friday night.

The Norse jumped out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter, 34-0 at halftime and 41-0 after three quarters.

North Muskegon scored two first quarter touchdowns on a 45-yard run by Chandler Edwards and a 23-yard catch by TJ McKenzie from quarterback Mack Young.

The Norse increased their lead in the second quarter with a 44-yard connection from Young to Edwards, a nine-yard rushing touchdown by Edwards and a 16-yard completion from Young to John Hayhurst.

North Muskegon added a touchdown during the third quarter on a 41-yard interception return by De’Shary Warren.

The Norse, who recorded 474 yards of total offense, closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter on a one-yard run by Stephen Smith.

Young completed 15-of-23 passes for 244 yards to lead the Norse, while Edwards led the ground attack with 109 yards on 12 carries.

McKenzie paced North Muskegon in receiving, recording 97 yards on four receptions.

The Norse were led defensively by Brady Lindell with 5.5 tackles while Will Gallo added five.

Dustin Klotz led Hart with 54 yards receiving and eight tackles.

The Norse are now 4-3 on the season and 3-3 in league play. They will look to keep their playoff hopes alive next Friday on the road against Whitehall.

Hart is now 2-5 on the season and 2-4 in conference play and will host Oakridge next weekend.
