The Shelby football squad fell to Mason County Central 62-7 on Friday in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Tigers trailed 21-0 after the first quarter, 42-7 at the halftime and 56-7 heading into the fourth stanza.

Tanner Astrauskus led the rushing attack with 18 carries for 85 yards while Jason Hubbard carried the ball eight times for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Gage Landis paced the Shelby defense with 12 tackles while Jake Whitlow had nine.

The Tigers fell to 0-8 on the season and will close out the season on the road against Hesperia.

Mason County Central is now 1-7 on the years and will face Ludington next Friday.
