The Western Michigan Christian volleyball faced Ravenna and Newaygo on Thursday at Muskegon Catholic in a tri-match.

The Warriors posted a 2-0 record, defeating Ravenna (25-8, 25-16) in two sets and Newaygo (23-25, 25-9, 15-18) in three.

Anna Sytsema paced WMC with nine kills while Eden TenCate and Claudia Kingma added eight each.

The Warriors were led defensively by Kingma with 20 digs along with Rebecca TerHaar and Meghan Heiss, who each contributed with 17.

Sytsema chipped in with seven block and Alisha Leffring dished out 31 assists.

WMC is now 26-9-1 overall on the season.

Muskegon Catholic dropped both its matches to Newaygo (25-18, 22-25, 14-16) and Ravenna (25-23, 13-25) to post a 0-2 record.

Calvinnae Simmons paced MCC with 11 kills while Emily Olsen added five aces and Amelia Heminger chipped in with 36 assists.

The Crusaders are now 13-12 on the season.

ORCHARD VIEW 3, POTTER’S HOUSE 2 – The Cardinals won a non-league match by service scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 6-25 and 16-14.

Lily Johnson paced OV with 13 kills, eight digs and five blocks, while Allie TenHove added six aces, 11 kills and nine digs. Cassidee White chipped in with 25 assists.

The Cardinals are now 8-22-2 overall and 1-3 in Lakes 8 play.

COOPERSVILLE 3, SPRING LAKE 0- The Lakers dropped their O-K Blue Conference contest by scores of 22-25, 10-25, 23-25.

Abbi Perkins led the Lakers with seven kills and four blocks while Jencen Sabo and Madeline Zenas added five kills.

Spring Lake was led defensively by Lauren Cooper with 12 digs.

The Lakers are now 28-5-1 on the season and 6-2 in conference play.
