The Whitehall football squad closed its regular season with a non-league win over Dexter 23-13 on Friday night.

The game was tied 7-7 after the first quarter, Whitehall took a 10-7 advantage at halftime and maintained it until the fourth quarter.

The Vikings closed out the scoring with a 13-6 fourth quarter run.

Kayleb Venema opened the scoring for Whitehall with a two-yard touchdown run.

The Vikings scored the lone points in the second quarter on a 27-yard field goal by Murray Andree.

Whitehall opened the fourth quarter scoring with a seven-yard pass from Gavin Schafer to Terrell Harris to give the Vikings a 17-7 advantage.

Venema added a three-yard touchdown run before Dexter closed out the scoring with a touchdown.

The Vikings were led by Venema with 168 rushing yards on 22 attempts and two touchdowns while Shafer threw for 58 yards on 6-for-11 passing and one score.

Venema paced Whitehall defensively with seven tackles while Kyler Honore had an interception.

The Vikings finished their regular season with a 7-2 record and will await their opponent for pre-districts.
