The Western Michigan Christian boys basketball team opened the season with a 67-63 overtime victory over Oakridge in a non-league game on Tuesday.
The Warriors led 17-16 at the end of the first quarter.
Oakridge tied the game 29-29 at halftime and 41-41 heading into the final quarter. Regulation ended with a 56-56 tie to force an overtime period.
WMC closed out the game with an 11-7 run in overtime.
Zach Butkis led the Warriors with 20 points, while Hayden Hubers added 16 and Kellen Mitchell had 10.
The Eagles were led by Peyton Young and Tanner Karel with 13 points apiece, while CoCo Watson and T.J. Ruel each added 10.
