Jenna Core put up 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Spring Lake girls basketball team to a 46-44 non-league win over Reeths-Puffer on Friday.
Pheobe Saunders was second in the Laker’s double-double parade with 12 points and 11 assists, and Madeline Zenas put up 11 points with 13 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Spring Lake is now 3-1 on the season.
KENT CITY47, MORLEY-STANWOOD 37 – Morley-Stanwood led 11-9 after one quarter and the game was tied 25-25 at halftime. Kent City took control with a 12-9 edge in the third quarter and 10-3 in the fourth.
Jenna Harrison and Kenzie Bowers each had 14 points – including 4 triples apiece – for the Eagles. Zara Weber added 10 points for the winners.
WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 48, FRUITPORT 24 – Taylor Folkema had 21 points and seven steals while Anna Sytsema added 20 points and eight rebounds for WMC, which improved to 5-0 on the season.
Johnson and Peyton Allen were credited with strong play. Meghan Heiss added eight points and seven assists for the Warriors.
