The Fruitport wrestling team had a strong showing on Wednesday, defeating Muskegon 59-18 and Spring Lake 51-25.
Connor Sykes (119), Evan Ludlow (130), and Savion Williams (145) each won one match on the night while Mason Brown (125), Karl Glydewell (135), Domonic Dault (140), Tyler Ranshaw (152), Zechariah Richardson (160), Patrick Faltinowski (171), Crue Cooper (189) and Jayme Woodring (215) each went 2-0 on the night.
Orchard View has a strong night
The Orchard View wrestling team went undefeated on Wednesday defeating Grant 52-18 and Ravenna 63-18.
Zion Szucs (103), Alex Cantu (119), Brendan Hyatt (125), Landyn Felt (140), Kody Goudzward (145), Daniel Woodring (152), Jay Sandin (215) and Jordan Tuttle (285) went 2-0 on the night while Zandir Wescott (112), Blake Michael (130), Tavion Chavez (135), Tommy Shawl (160) and Terrance Levelston (171) all picked up a single win.
Ludington starts season slow
The Ludington wrestling team opened up its season on Wednesday with losses to Mason County Central and Shelby at the Shelby duals.
The winning Oriole wrestlers were Dylan Buck, Preston Kelley, Mason Hoeker and Tyson Beetz.
Muskegon struggles in duals at Spring Lake
The Muskegon wrestling team opened up its season with a 59-18 loss to Fruitport and a 64-8 loss to Comstock Park.
Nate Crump (145) and Jamarion Herron (285) went undefeated on the night for the Big Reds while Dion Neal (112) and Defonte Hillard (215) each won one match.
Spring Lake loses two matches in home dual
The Spring Lake wrestling team went 0-2 as well on Wednesday, losing 66-15 to Comstock Park and 51-25 to Fruitport.
Max Montgomery and Jack Parker each went 2-0 on the night to lead the Laker wrestling team.
Fremont wins two matches at Kent City
The Packers defeated Zeeland East 42-32 in the first match of the night
Jager Kibart (pin), Matt Halasinski (pin), Chase Knudsen (pin), Kyler Kolk (pin), Austin Kukal (pin) , RJ Thome , and Cody Routley were each victorious for Fremont. Fremont won the dual 42-32.
Fremont downed Big Rapids in the second match by a 64-18 margin.
Matt Long, Dennis Halasinski, Jager Kibart (pin), Trey Breuker (pin), Chase Knudsen (pin), Kyler Kolk, Austin Kukal (pin), RJ Thome, Eli Beasley (pin), Cody Routley and Adam Halasinski each won their match for the Packers.
