The Muskegon Big Reds had a surprisingly tough time with Kenowa Hills on Friday, but had the edge in a high-scoring fourth quarter and escaped with a 50-45 victory in O-K Black Conference action.
The Big Reds led 12-6 after one, but the Knights bit back, outscoring Muskegon 13-7 in the second quarter to tie the game 19-19 at halftime.
Muskegon had a 9-6 advantage in the low-scoring third quarter, then a 22-20 edge in the fourth, to gain the victory.
De’Airrus Ware had a team-high 13 points for the Big Reds, who are now 3-1 on the season. Eonte Tornes added 12 points, Vern Nash had 11 and Billie Roberts snagged nine rebounds.
