The Muskegon Lumberjacks snapped their three-game winning streak with a 4-1 loss to Cedar Rapids on Friday night.
The Lumberjacks are now 23-6-1 on the season, good for 47 points and first place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference. Muskegon currently has a 12 point lead over second place Chicago.
Muskegon will look to bounce back on Saturday in a rematch against the Roughriders. Faceoff is slated for 8:05 p.m.
The Lumberjacks struggled on the power play, failing to score on seven of their eight chances with the man advantage.
Cedar Rapids jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals from Nate Hanley and Nathan Smith.
The Roughriders added two more goals during the second stanza with tallies from Jason Polin and Max Sasson to take a 4-0 advantage.
The Lumberjacks closed out the scoring with a power play goal from Egor Afanasyev 17:02 into the final period.
Brandon Bussi stopped 13 of 16 shots for the Lumberjacks after 26 minutes before getting pulled for backup goalie Ryan McInchak.
