The Montague boys basketball squad handed North Muskegon its first loss of the season 47-42 on Thursday in a West Michigan Conference game.
The Wildcats are now 4-5 on the season and 2-4 in league play, while North Muskegon falls to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in conference action.
Kenyan Johnston paced Montague with 18 points while Hunter Mosher added 10 points and 17 rebounds. Sebastian Archer chipped in with seven points.
The game tied 8-8 after the first quarter and North Muskegon had a 24-18 halftime advantage.
The Norse continued to lead with a 35-31 advantage heading into the final stanza.
The Wildcats finished the contest strong, going on a 16-7 fourth quarter tear to capture the victory.
TJ McKenzie led the Norse with a game-high 22 points while John Hayhurst added nine points and six rebounds.
WHITEHALL 55, HART 45- Ethan McKenzie’s 22-point and 15-rebound performance paced the Vikings to a league win.
Whitehall led 19-9 after the first quarter, 26-16 at halftime and 35-25 through three quarters.
Terrell Harris chipped in with seven points and six assists for the Vikings.
The Pirates (7-3, 3-3) were led by Hunter Tubbs with 10 points while Alec Kempker added nine points.
MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 75, SHELBY 47- The Spartans were led by Jeffery Carrier with 36 points, 13 rebounds five assists and six steals.
Mason County Central jumped out to a 16-10 lead after the first quarter, led 39-24 at halftime and had a 61-37 advantage heading into the final stanza.
Bruce Banks and Dom Peterson each added 10 points for the Spartans.
The Tigers were led by Isaiah Frye with 17 points while Tyler Schouten had 15.
