Muskegon girls basketball team overcomes early deficit, defeats Kent City

The Muskegon girls basketball team closed out its regular season with a 55-50 non-league win over Kent City on Thursday.

Alyza Winston paced the Big Reds with 23 points and five assists while Dynasti Dowell added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Muskegon trailed 15-5 after the first quarter and 29-18 at halftime. The Big Reds cut their deficit to 39-31 heading into the fourth quarter before closing the game on a 24-11 fourth quarter tear.

The Eagles were led by Jenna Harrison with 19 points while Zara Weber had 10.

Kent City finished its season with a 16-4 record and 10-0 in league play.
