The Whitehall wrestling team took home a Division 3 regional championship on Wednesday with a 68-8 win over Grant and a 54-9 win over Comstock Park.

Wrestlers who went 2-0 on the night for the Vikings were Aiden Weiler (103), Sam Baustert (112), Max Brown (130), Marco Moore (140), Kyler Honore (152), Ira Jenkins (160), Trenton Blanchard (171), Kayleb Venema (189), Allen Powers (215) and Jarrean Sargeant (285).

Riley Buys (119), Tyler Reavey (135) and Kris Dowdell (145) each had one win on the night for Whitehall.

Whitehall will next wrestle on February 22 in the Division 3 quarterfinals at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo.

REETHS-PUFFER DROPS HEARTBREAER TO CEDAR SPRINGS – The Reeths-Puffer wrestling team fell 34-31 to Cedar Springs on Wednesday night in the Division 2 regional semifinals.

Winning wrestlers for the Rockets were Connor Bloomstrom (103), Jacob Blawat (119), Noah McKinnon (125), Alec Chipman (130), Colby Stephenson (160), Hunter McCall (215) and Gerrit Andrus (285).

HART QUALIFIES FOR REGIONAL FINAL BUT FALLS TO CASRSON CITY CRYSTAL – The Hart wrestling team defeated Maple Valley 69-9 in the Division 4 regional semifinals before falling 59-18 to Carson City Crystal in the finals.

Wrestlers who won both matches for the Pirates were Robbie Altland (119/125), Noah Cantu (125/130) and Alex Holladay (171/189) while Spencer Vanderzwaag (112), Mason Cantu (135), Jordan Mallory (135), Fabian Vilches-Mendoza (140), Jayden Vanderzwaag (145), Jerry Brandel (152), Thomas Tanner (160), Leo Guadarrama (171), Cesar Velasquez (215) and Austin Bowen (285) all won one match.
