Girls Soccer Roundup: Calvary Christian nets late winning goal, Fruitport wins big

The Fruitport Calvary Christian girls soccer team took down Ravenna 2-1 on Monday in a non-conference game.

With four minutes left in the game and the score tied 1-1, Emily Wesner scored the game winning goal off an assist from Bree Johnson.

The Eagles first half goal came from Emily May off an assist from Wesner.

The lone Bulldog goal came from Kaylyn Eden who was assisted by Alexys Shimmel. Bailey Walker had 10 saves for Ravenna.

FRUITPORT 6, OAKRIDGE 1 –Ellie Fisher paced the Trojan effort on Monday with four goals in the season opening victory.

Kennah VerMerris and Sarah Zielinski each added a goal for Fruitport while Daisy Haack had two assists. Olivia Langlois and Zielinski each had one assist on the night.

In total, Fruitport outshot Oakridge 22-1 in the game.
