The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team ended its season with a tough 84-82 loss to Kalamazoo Valley Community College in regional competition on Tuesday.

The Jayhawks got off to a great start, leading 21-18 after one quarter and 42-38 at halftime. At one point they led by 20 points in the second quarter.

MCC led 65-54 at the end of the third quarter, but was outscored 16-5 in the fourth, leaving the game tied 70-70 and headed to overtime.

Kalamazoo Valley stole the win in OT with a 14-12 edge.

Elysia Mattos paced the Jayhawks with 21 points and 11 assists, Artrese Williams added 16 points and five rebounds, Shaina Figures and Mariah Pringle scored 15 points apiece, while Delaney Bolles piled up 13 points and 13 rebounds.
