The Muskegon Lumberjacks finished their rough weekend with a 4-0 loss to the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Saturday in Bloomington.

The Lumberjacks, who are now winless in three straight game, are now 35-13-4 on the season, good for 74 points and first place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.

Muskegon currently holds a 12-point lead over the second place Chicago Steel with 10 games remaining.

The Lumberjacks will return home for a five-game home stand, starting next Friday and Saturday against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Friday’s game with start at 7:15 p.m., while Saturday’s will begin at 6:15.

The Flying Aces jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period on two goals from Joseph Dunlap and one by Tyler Gratton.

Central Illinois increased its advantage to 4-0 with an early second period goal from Ryan Siedem.

Both teams failed to score during the third period.

The Lumberjacks outshot Central Illinois by a 37-22 margin.

Ryan McInchak stopped four of seven shots in net for Muskegon before getting pulled in favor of starting goaltender Brandon Bussi, who stopped 14 of 15 shots.
