The Mona Shores girls soccer team lost to Grandville in their season opener on Thursday night 2-0.
Goalkeepers Emma Lynn and Ella Buikema combined to make seven saves for Mona Shores. Alexa Musk, Erin Powers and Mia Bowers had strong defensive efforts for the Sailors.
Mona Shores will play again on Tuesday in a non-conference game at Rockford.
