The Mona Shores baseball team started its season on Monday with a 4-1 victory over West Ottawa.

Starting pitcher Drew Moss went six and 2/3 innings while allowing only one unearned run in the victory. Brady Rose got the final out and earned the save for the Sailors

Kolbe Trovinger brought home two runs on an RBI double while Rose also added a RBI single. Cam Sobish stole home plate on a double-steal for the fourth Mona Shores run.

Caden Broersma led the Sailor offense overall with two hits, a walk, one run scored and two stolen bases.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 7, REETHS-PUFFER 2 – Navarre Klint picked up the win on the mound for the Crusaders, allowing one run on five hits over six innings of work. On offense, Nolan Convertini, Max Price and Carson Bleicher all had RBIs while Ryan Gillings scored two runs. For Reeths-Puffer, Kobe Schalk and Will Bennner each had two hits.

GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL 11, OAKRIDGE 3- The Eagles struggled in their first game of the season, allowing 10 in the first inning. Oakridge scored its three runs on five hits, two walks and one hit batter.

The Eagles are now 0-1 overall on the season.

 

HOLLAND CHRISTIAN 10, NORTH MUSKEGON 4- The Norse allowed seven unanswered runs after jumping out to a 4-3 lead.

Billy Lowe, Jesse Cooke and Charlie Branch allowed just two earned runs combined for North Muskegon.

The Norse were paced offensively by John Hayhurst with a double and an RBI.

North Muskegon is now 0-1 on the season.
