The Muskegon Community College softball team dropped a doubleheader to Cornerstone University on Wednesday, 3-2 and 5-4.

The Jayhawks stranded 10 runners in the Game 1 loss. Kirsten Sweet pitched a complete game for the Jayhawks while Mickayla Greiner had two hits.

In Game 2, the Jayhawks lost when they gave up a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh (and final) inning. Bri Breen pitched a strong game for MCC, allowing only one earned run and five hits in 6 2/3 innings. Hannah Smith, Alison Shafter and Mason Lysiak paced the Jayhawks with two hits apiece.

MCC is now 4-10 on the season.
