Pitcher Brenden Moat tossed a complete game, striking out 12 and allowing five hits in North Muskegon’s 6-0 victory over Fruitport on Wednesday in a non-conference baseball game.

Alec Cutter had a home run and double for the Norse while Samus Corbett added three singles.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 5, UNITY CHRISTIAN 1 – The Warriors won their first game of the season. Pitcher Nathan VanderWeide recorded the victory, pitching five innings, while Brant Zeerip pitched the final two, picking up the save.

Nick Moser led the offense with two hits and an RBI while Zeerip added a double and scored two runs. Micah TerHaar, Carson Van Hekken and Michael Kamps each recorded single hits for the Warriors.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 13, HESPERIA 3 – Pitcher Brad Egeler recorded two shutout innings, earning the win for MCC.

Carson Bleicher led the Crusaders with four hits, including two doubles. Josh Holden had three hits while Ryan Gillings and Tom Kartes each recorded two.

For Hesperia, Johnny Segura led the team with two hits and an RBI. Hunter Dickinson followed with a double and an RBI.

The Crusaders improved to 3-0. Hesperia is 0-1.

ORCHARD VIEW 14, WHITEHALL 4 – Pitcher Chase Keller went the distance for visiting Orchard View, striking out four batters in five innings and earning the win.

Alex Andrews led the Cardinal offense with four hits and five RBIs. Keller added two hits and three RBIs for OV, which was playing its season opener.

GR CHRISTIAN 12, SPRING LAKE 0 – The Lakers fell behind early, giving up four earned runs in the first inning, three in the second, and four in the third.

Zach Keyser, Aaron Waugh and Isiah Lindsey each had hits for Spring Lake.
