Senior guard Rachel Allen tallied her 1000th point of her career and led the Mason County Central girls basketball team to a 50-36 win over Shelby in a Division 3 district semifinal contest.

The Spartans started off slow early, trailing 10-6 after one quarter, but scored 19 points during the second quarter to take a 25-21 advantage at halftime.

Mason County Central led by a slim 33-32 margin heading into the fourth quarter before closing the game strong with a 17-4 run.

Kelsey Kosiboski led the Spartans with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Allen chipped in with 14 points of her own. Maddy Bladzik contributed with 11 points, five assists and five steals.

The Tigers were paced by Kendall Zoulek with 10 points and eight rebounds while Sharon Josephson added eight points.

The Spartans will play the winner of the Hart and White Cloud on Friday in a Division 4 district final game at Hesperia High School.
