Oakridge pitcher Koleman Wall had an amazing game on Tuesday, striking out 20 and surrendering no hits in 6 2/3 innings to lead the Eagles to a 4-0 victory over Shelby in West Michigan Conference action.

Austin Fairchild pitched to one batter in relief and got a strikeout, bringing the game total to 21.

Wall aided his own effort by going 3-for-3 at the plate and scoring two runs. Blake Masterman had two hits, Kolbe Stewart added two RBIs and Hunter Jennings had one.

In the first game, Oakridge claimed a 7-3 win by scoring two runs in the fifth inning and five in the seventh. Fairchild had two hits and scored a run. Wall, Masterman and Will Scraver all drove in two runs. TJ Ruel was the winning pitcher.

Dakota Springer scored two runs for Shelby and Tristan Landis had a hit and scored a run.

Oakridge is now 6-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

WHITEHALL 8-7, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 2-3 – Whitehall’s Trenton Blanchard pitched very well in Game 1 on Tuesday, allowing one hit while striking out seven in six innings. Aiden Raymond had two hits, including a double, for the Vikings.

In Game 2, Austin Groenveld helped Whitehall complete the sweep by pitching a complete game while scattering four hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Merrick Schmehil hit an RBI double for the Vikings and Blanchard had two hits and knocked in one run

NORTH MUSKEGON 3-4, HART 2-3 – The Norse scored late runs in both games to claim the conference doubleheader sweep on Wednesday.

Brendan Gannon’s single in the sixth inning in Game 1 put North Muskegon ahead for good. Pitcher Charlie Branch got the win for the Norse, scattering three hits, striking out 11 and walking one in 6 1/3 innings. Billy Lowe was effective in relief.

Mack Young pitched a complete-game victory in Game 2, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six. Alec Cutter led North Muskegon with a double and two RBIs.
