The Orchard View baseball team swept Manistee 11-0 and 15-1 on Friday behind solid pitching and powerful offense.

In Game 1, Brett Shawl picked up the win on the mound, striking out 13 and allowing only one hit while Alex Andrews hit a solo home run for the Cardinals (3-2-1, 2-0). Shawl and Dayton Rose also had home runs for the Cardinals.

In Game 2, Chase Keller picked up the win while striking out five. Shawl led the offense with eight RBIs in the game.

NEWAYGO 7-8, HART 6-2 – Rece Schlukebir had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Hart offense in their Game 1 loss. Matt Robins added a double and two RBIs for Hart.

In Game 2, Braeden Carskadon, Schlukebir and Alec Kempker all had hits for the Pirates.

MONA SHORES 10, FRUITPORT 0 – Brady Ross picked up the win, striking out five and allowing only two hits.

Aaron Piasecki had two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI while Kolbe Trovinger had two hits including a triple while also scoring three runs and adding an RBI. Rose also had two hits, two RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs scored.

Mona Shores is now 7-2 overall and 6-0 in OK-Black conference play.
