The Whitehall softball team defeated Hesperia 9-1 and 9-6 in a non-conference doubleheader on Friday.

In Game 1, Calry Hubbard picked up the win on the mound for Whitehall, allowing one run on eight hits while stirking out four. Kate Martin had multiple hits including a home run to pace the offense.

Hesperia (1-5, 0-2) was paced by Alyssa Miller and Caragan Frees who each had a double in Game 1 while Ellie Plamer had the lone RBI.

In Game 2, Martin once again led the Vikings, totaling four hits.

Makenna Swisher had three hits and two runs scored for Hesperia while Palmer also had three hits and two runs scored. Miller had two hits and two RBIs for the Panthers.

HART 5-17, NEWAYGO 4-4 – Rylee Noggle had a go-ahead RBI to give Hart a victory on Friday in Game 1 of their doubleheader.

Sabrina Pickard led the Hart offense in Game 1 with two hits while Nicole Rockwell picked up the win, striking out three batters.

In Game 2, Skylar Smith led the offense with five RBIs including a grand slam home run. Rockwell was 3-for-4 at the plate while Myryssa Hopkins added her second home run of the season.

SPRING LAKE 15-8, ZEELAND WEST 1-5 – The Spring Lake softball team improved its record to 8-2 on the season with two wins on Friday.

In Game 1, the Lakers had 15 hits as a team while Jenna Core had three of the hits and three runs scored. Molly Poole, Alicia Mumby, Layni Wyns and Juliette Goldberg each had two hits for the Lakers.

In Game 2, Leah Vaughan had a career high 18 strikeouts for Spring Lake while also combining with Flynn to have six hits on offense including five doubles. Mumby had three hits including a home run.

ORCHARD VIEW 7-15, MANISTEE 4-3 – Orchard View got RBI doubles from Cassidee White and Halee Holman in the seventh inning of Game 1 on Friday. Holman also picked up the win, striking out nine and allowing three hits.

White led the Cardinal (7-2, 2-0) offense in Game 2 with four hits while Holman added three of her own. Allie Tenhove added two hits while also picking up the win, striking out 10.
