Aiden Poling pitched a complete game, giving up no earned runs, scattering four hits and striking out five in the Holton baseball team’s 7-2 victory over Hesperia in the opener of a CSAA Silver matchup on Friday.

Poling also went 2-for-3 at the plate while Chip Wright had a two-run double. Logan Balkema led Hesperia with two hits.

The Panthers got even in Game 2 with a hard-fought 6-5 victory. Holton had the bases loaded with one out in the final inning, but couldn’t push across a run to tie the game.

Johnny Segura earned the win on the mound, for Hesperia, tossing 1 1/3 innings of relief while allowing one hit and one run.  Offensively for the Panthers, Jacob Klemundt went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, Hunter Dickinson went 3-for-3 and Balkema hit a two-run double.

Wright had two hits and knocked in four runs for Holton. Poling had two hits and scored two runs.
