The Muskegon Lumberjacks responded on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over the Dubuque Fighting Saints in Game 4 of the USHL Eastern Conference semifinals.

With the victory, the Lumberjacks win their series versus Dubuque 3-1 and advance to play the Chicago Steel in the USHL Eastern Conference finals with Game 1 scheduled for 7:15 on Saturday in Muskegon.

Muskegon jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Wednesday when Jagger Joshua scored a power play goal 10:09 into the first period. Alex Yakovenko and Egor Afanasyev each had assists on the goal.

In the second period,  Muskegon stretched their lead to 2-0 when Zachary Nazzarett scored off assists from Yakovenko and Nolan Sullivan at the 6:16 mark.

The Lumberjack lead held at 2-0 until 8:46 into the third period when Dubuque scored their lone goal of the game.

In total, Muskegon outshot Dubuque 27-21 on the night. Muskegon goalie Brandon Bussi had 20 saves on the night.
