The Oakridge softball team took home the Lakeshore Slam Softball tournament title after defeating Fruitport 10-0 in five innings on Saturday.

In pool play, Oakridge defeated Spring Lake 3-2, Wayland 10-2 and Forest Hills Eastern 20-1.

In total, the Eagles had 44 hits on Saturday in four games while only allowing five runs on the day.

In the title game, Kayla Fessenden allowed five hits while striking out four in the victory.

Sophia Wiard had a home run and a double while totaling three RBIs. Fessenden also had a strong day at the plate with a home run and a double while adding two RBIs.

SPRING LAKE GOES 3-1 AT LAKESHORE SLAM – Spring Lake lost to Oakridge 3-2 before defeating Wayland 7-4 and Allendale 20-5.

Leah Vaughan went 1-1 on the mound for the Lakers while striking out 18 and adding seven hits of her own at the plate.

Molly Poole also had a strong day with five hits while Avery Flynn and Alicia Mumby each had four hits including a home run.

Spring Lake is now 4-2 overall the season.
