The Muskegon Catholic baseball team defeated Grant 11-1 on Wednesday evening after scoring nine fourth inning runs.

Ryan Gillings led the Crusaders with two doubles while Tom Kartes and Nolan Convertini each had two hits of their own.

Convertini picked up the win on the mound, allowing one unearned run on four hits while also striking out eight.

SPARTA 4, SPRING LAKE 3 – The Spring Lake baseball team was no-hit on Wednesday in a conference loss to Sparta.

While being no-hit, the Lakers were still able to scrape across three runs.

Laker starting pitcher Isiah Lindsey went 6 and 2/3 innings while surrendering two earned runs on four hits while striking out 11.

The Lakers led 3-0 until the top of the seventh when Sparta scored all four of their runs.

With the loss, Spring Lake falls to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

MONA SHORES 4-10, FRUITPORT 0-8 – Mona Shores took a pair of games against Fruitport in a OK-Black conference matchup.

In Game 1, Sailor starter Connor Vallie went the distance, striking out eight and allowing only two hits. Reid McAvoy led Mona Shores on offense with an RBI triple.

In Game 2, Drew Moss picked up the win for Mona Shores while Brady Rose picked up the save. Jackson Neely paced the Sailor offense with two doubles and three RBIs while Rose, Aaron Piasecki and Tyler Campbell all had two hits.

David Ross and Landon Doctor each had two hits to lead the Trojan offense in the second game.

NORTH MUSKEGON 10, RAVENNA 8 – North Muskegon defeated Ravenna in Game 1 and led 8-4 in Game 2 before the game was postponed due to darkness.

Game 2 will be finished on Friday April 26 at 4 p.m.

In Game 1, Alec Cutter paced the Norse with three hits and five RBIs while Jesse Cooke picked up the win on the mound.
