Weekend Soccer Roundup: Ravenna takes home Hart tournament with strong offense

The Ravenna soccer team took first place in the Hart tournament, defeating Montague 4-2, North Bay Co-Op 4-2 and Leland 5-1.

In the victory over Montague Alexys Shimmel scored two goals while Skye Bragg and Isabel Hammond each added one goal.

In the North Bay Co-Op victory, Hammond had three goals while Kaylyn Eden also had a goal.

In the championship game, Eden led with two goals while Hammond, Shimmel and Sidney Marsman each had one goal.

REETHS-PUFFER REBOUNDS AFTER SHUTOUT LOSS – The Reeths-Puffer soccer team went 1-1 over the weekend with a 3-0 loss to Traverse City West and a 3-2 win over Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

The goal scorers versus Grand Rapids Catholic Central were Iris Herlad, Kendall Jones and Lexi Bolles while Isabell Olsen and Emily Caltigirone each had an assist.

Goalkeeper Olivia Alexander had eight saves in the victory.

Western Michigan Christian Drops Two – The Western Michigan Christian soccer team dropped both of its matches on Saturday, falling 3-1 to Fruitport and 3-0 to Harbor Springs.

Adayla Liggett scored the lone Warrior goal on the day on a breakaway in the Fruitport game.
