The West Michigan Whitecaps used a four run fourth inning on Tuesday to take down Lansing 7-6 in a road game.

The Whitecaps led 3-2 in the top of the fourth when Ulrich Bojarski scored on a walk by Wenceel Perez, making the score 4-2. Two more runs came in to score when Jordan Pearce singled, scoring Reece Hampton and Jose King.

The final run of the fourth inning came on a Parker Meadows single that scored Perez to make the score 7-2 in favor of the Whitecaps.

Lansing added one run in the fifth inning before socring three runs in the sixth but were unable to scratch across any more runs, giving the Whitecaps a 7-6 victory.

Avery Tuck had an RBI single in the game while Jordan Pearce hit a two run home run in the third inning.

Bojarski and Pearce each had three total hits to lead the Whitecap offense while Pearce added three RBIs. Meadows, Perez and Tuck all had one RBI in the game.

Reliever Angel De Jesus picked up the win for West Michigan, allowing one run on one hit while also striking out four in 2 and 1/3 innings of work.

Yaya Chentouf picked up the save in one inning of work where he walked one batter and allowed one hit.

The Whitecaps are now 3-3 on the season and will continue their series with Lansing on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
