Spring Lake girls soccer team advances to Div. 2 district semis, cruises past Fremont 8-0

The Spring Lake girls soccer team advanced to the Division 2 district semifinals with an 8-0 win over Fremont on Thursday evening.

Laney Peasley paced the Lakers with five goals, while Sara Gray added two and Meah Bajt chipped in with one tally.

Spring Lake outshot the Packers by a commanding 22-1 margin.

Fremont’s goalkeeper Audrey Johnson stopped 14 shots faced.

The Lakers improved to 13-1-2 overall on the season, while Fremont finished its season with a 9-6-4 record.

Spring Lake will face Sparta on Tuesday at Coopersville High School in the district semifinals.
