The Orchard View softball squad won a pair of games against Montague on Thursday in non-league action.

The Cardinals won the opener by a 10-5 margin, then defeated the Wildcats 7-4 in the nightcap.

Halee Holman went the distance for the Cardinals in Game 1 from the mound, striking out eight hitters and notching the win.

Orchard View’s Shamony McKentry led the offense with four hits while Madi Bowen recorded three.

In the nightcap, Allie Tenhove recorded the win on the mound, striking out ten batters.

Holman was 3-for-3 with two doubles while Bowen and Kaelyn McNarland added two hits apiece.

Orchard View improved to 23-7 overall.

PENTWATER 3-4, BRETHREN 2-1 – Falcon pitcher Mikaylyn Kenney had a great Game 1, striking out
11 hitters through six innings.

Makaylah Cornelisse led Pentwater with two hits while Kenney and Taylor Ruggles each had one hit.

In the nightcap, Kenney again pitched the win on the mound,
striking out six batters.

Kenney and Cienna Ruggles led the Falcon offense with two hits each. Bailee Hasil, Emma Oliphant, and Haidyn Adams each added a hit.

Pentwater improved to 10-4 in conference play and 15-6-1 overall.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 7-11, LUDINGTON 1-5 – In the opener, Megan Mulherin suffered the loss on the mound.

Ali Frey led the Oriole offense with a triple and an RBI while Bailee Wysong chipped in with a double.

In the nightcap, Olivia Verstrat pitched the loss, striking out six batters.

VerStrat had two singles while Alexis Bray recorded a double.

Ludington fell to 6-6 in the conference action and 8-20 overall.
