The Ravenna girls soccer team defeated Shelby 1-0 on Wednesday in the first round of the West Michigan Conference tournament.

Alexys Shimmel had the lone goal in the game for the Bulldogs.

Goalkeeper Bailey Walker had four saves while helping Ravenna improve to 12-5-1 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 2, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 1 – Muskegon Catholic outscored Western Michigan Christian 2-0 in the second half on Wednesday.

Trailing 1-0, Mckenna Gentry tied the game for Muskegon Catholic when she scored off an assist from Payton Helton.

With 23 minutes left, Adrianna Espinoza scored off a Helton assist to give Muskegon Catholic a 2-1 lead which was ultimately the final score.

Crusader goalkeeper Kate Rauch had five saves.

Muskegon Catholic is now 7-5-1 overall and 3-2-2 in conference play.

LUDINGTON 3, ORCHARD VIEW 0 – The Orioles finish the regular season with a 6-2 conference record after the victory on Wednesday.

Goal scorers for Ludington were Hailey Stowe, Anna Wietrzykowski and Eleah Billings while Stowe, Sophia Cooney and Billings all had assists.

Lindsey Lovato picked up her fifth conference shutout victory of the season.

Ludington is now 8-8-1 overall on the season.
