The Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team defeated Orchard View 2-0 in a conference game on Wednesday.

Natalie Riksen scored the lone first half goal when she scored off an assist from Emily Meyers.

In the second half, Emily Rosema took a corner kick and found Anna Sytsema who scored the last goal of the game.

Goal keeper Katie Johnson picked up the shutout victory for the Warriors.

With the win, Western Michigan Christian improves to 3-3-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.

FREMONT 5, NEWAYGO 0 –The Packers used a strong four goal second half to defeat Newaygo on Wednesday.

The lone first half goal was scored by Sam Schmidt of the Packers (5-3-3, 2-2-1).

In the second half, Kaley Wyant led the Fremont attack, scoring two goals and assisting on another.

Avery Curnett contributed a goal and an assist while Taylor Crowley added a goal and Elly O’Neill added an assist.

Audrey Johnson picked up the shutout victory in net, making four saves on the day.
