Ludington swept a doubleheader in consistent and dominating fashion Wednesday, defeating Western Michigan Christian 17-2 twice.

Megan Mulherin was the winning pitcher on the mound for both games for Ludington.

In game one, she pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out six. In game two, she pitched another complete game, giving up six hits and no walks, while striking out three.

The Orioles bats were on show in both games.

In game one, Mackenzie Howe went 4-for-4, Mulherin was 2-for-3, Olivia VerStrat and Ali Frey each had a double. Alexis Bray, Saige Phelps, Jaina Nehm, and Bailee Wysong all contributed two hits each.

In game two, Mulherin went 2-for-3 with two homeruns and five RBIs. Wysong hit a home run, VerStrat went 3-for-3, and Lily Roberts, Phelps, and Bray had two hits apiece.

The Orioles improve to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in conference.

OAKRIDGE 10-8, RAVENNA 0-1 – The Bulldogs struggled in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader on Wednesday.

Lauren Odren led Ravenna at the plate, going 3-for-3, while Maddie Kilbourne was 2-for-4. Laney Mabrito, Teiyah Patterson, and Taylor Maycroft all went 1-for-3.

Ravenna falls to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

WHITEHALL 12-4, HART 2-0 – The Pirates fell behind early in game one due to defensive miscues.

Nicole Rockwell, Cassidy Copenhaver, Myryssa Hopkins, Sm James-Witteveen, and Kloe Dumonte all had one hit to lead Hart in Game 1.

In Game 2, Hart’s bats went quiet with only one hit, coming from Audry Swihart.

Finley Kistler had a solid performance pitching despite the loss, as she gave up eight hits and struck out six.
