The West Michigan Whitecaps fell for their fourth straight game on Sunday with a 11-9 home loss to Great Lakes.

In the first inning, the Whitecaps took a 4-0 lead when Christopher Proctor singled home John Valente, Jeremiah Burks and Proctor scored on an error and Parker Meadows singled hom Dayton Dugas.

Great Lakes tied the game at 4-4 with one run in the second, two runs in the third and one run in the fifth.

West Michigan responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 8-4 lead when Proctor hit a solo home run, Jose king doubled home Reynaldo River and Dugas and Avery Tuck singled home Jose King.

The lead didn’t last as Great Lakes scored five runs in the seventh and two runs in the ninth to take a 11-8 lead.

In the bottom of the ninth, Parker Meadows hit a solo home run which made the final score 11-9.

Valente paced the Whitecaps offense with three hits on the day while Proctor, Rivera, Meadows and Tuck each had two hits.

The Whitecaps are now 17-25 overall on the season and nine games behind Great Lakes for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

On Monday, the Whitecaps will begin a four games series at home against Bowling Green with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
