The West Michigan Whitecaps fell 3-2 to Bowling Green on Wednesday in a home matinee game.

Christopher Proctor gave the Whitecaps a 1-0 lead in the first inning when he singled home John Valente.

The game remained 1-0 until the seventh inning when Bowling Green scratched across two runs to take a 2-1 lead.

Bowling Green added an insurance run in the eighth inning to make the score 3-1.

In the home half of the eighth inning, Proctor score on an Ulrich Bojarski sacrifice fly which made the score 3-2 in favor of Bowling Green which was ultimately the final.

Proctor had two of the six Whitecap hits on Wednesday to lead the team. Starting pitcher Adam Wolf took the tough luck loss, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out seven over 6 and 2/3 innings.

The Whitecaps are now 18-27 on the season and 11 games behind first place Great Lakes in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

Bowling Green and West Michigan will wrap up their series on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
