The West Michigan Whitecaps lost to Burlington 5-2 on Friday in the first game of a three game road series.

West Michigan surrendered four runs in the second inning and ultimately fell behind to a deficit they couldn’t overcome.

Parker Meadows had an RBI sacrifice fly-out to bring one Whitecap run home Jose King scored the other run on a Burlington error.

King led the Whitecaps offense with two hits while starting pitcher Adam Wolf took the loss, allowing four earned runs on five hits. Wolf also walked four batters and struck out five.

The Whitecaps fall to 12-14 on the season and will continue their series at Burlington on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
